Bits and Pieces...

Researchers think they may have found the first evidence of another universe. They have found a cold spot in the sky, where there are far less stars than there ought to be, and one explanation is the impinging of another universe at an earlier stage in the evolution of our own universe. A good one for Jupiter conjunct the Galactic Centre.

In the UK they’re trying to roll out super-fast broadband for which you need optical fibres. It costs vast amounts to dig up roads and lay new networks. So they’re using the sewage network. Is this an early sign of the upcoming square from Uranus (high tech) to Pluto (sewage)?

In a natal chart, the most powerful place for a star to be is on an Angle. The US Sibly chart has the star Betelgeuse conjunct the Descendant. This is one of the brightest stars in the sky, and the one most associated with unobstructed success. This does seem to characterise the history of the USA. The Descendant is associated (in Fixed Star astrology) with the later years of life, and it did take about 300 years from the first European settlers arriving in the early 17th century for the US to reach the heights of its success, when it took over from Britain as the world’s most powerful country.

Its good to see The Astrology Page Blog back. One nice point Susan Custer makes is that in traditional astrology, sex wasn’t associated with the 8th House, it was associated with the 5th, because it’s supposed to be fun!

I've never thought it was enough to say ALL of "sex" is in the eighth house. Come on. I think of the massive amount of human experience that we English-speakers sum up with this one word (a word that some other languages don't even have) as being ruled by three or four different houses.

I agree that the fun, play part of "sex" is in the fifth house, along with all delightful love affairs of any sort. These include the sort of love affair you have with an art medium or a child you love.

The sensuous, luxurious part of "sex" is in the second house, along with everything else that is sensually indulgent, such as chocolate and long, lazy walks on the beach.

The part of "sex" that belongs in the eighth house is the part that turns you into a new person. Obviously, sexual activity doesn't have this effect every time!

One time when my therapist and i were arguing about the role "sex" should play in my life (which i considered to be an annoying, irrelevant question), i asked her, point-blank, what do you mean when you say the word "sex"? She retorted, "I mean PENIS IN VAGINA!"

I was disgusted by her crudeness. Being someone who makes love with women as well as men, this definition doesn't even make sense in my reality. But, i suppose it is a valid concept for many people.

So, if one places a high value on the particular activity my therapist mentioned (and i know there are a lot of them, or Viagra wouldn't be such a hot seller), then i suppose they can find it in the tenth house of tradition.

My current lover is a man with Mars in Capricorn, and i admit that i'd never had-- or even considered having-- as much penis-in-vagina as he and i have. Capricorn seems to feel that this is what his job is, and Capricorn always does his job, whether it's fun or not.

Could you give a link to the researchers who 'discovered' another universe? I'd like to read more about this.

Juliette, it was in a recent edition of New Scientist magazine, one of the 2 most recent, can't find it just now.

Kenna, remember Mars is exalted in Capricorn! You just need to update his idea of what constitutes a 'proper job' and he'll perform brilliantly. He'll be the best! Having Mars in Capricorn myself, I am of course a disinterested observer.
