Thank you for a great post. I am an American and I have always been chagrined at our country's tendency to tell others what to do. I hope this will begin to change with Obama's less belligerent tone, although we still have a long way to go.

About the US...Washington treats other coutries the way they treat the individual states, "Do what we say if you want money. If you don't then you will be punished." It's at the very least the Pluto opp. Mercury in Cap/Cancer and if you think the 7/2 chart has any merit then a Pluto/Moon conj. opp. Mercury which, I think does fit the country more, but I'm probably in the minority on that one.
I think the progressed chart shows the US headed for trouble. The Venus/Mars opp is in a cross with Pluto/Cap and Jup/Cancer. I thought immediately to the costs of the military and the wars and its strain. The Moon is heading towards Neptune and that Saturn/Scorp. is squaring Mercury Retrograde. I don't interpret this as humility yet. I interpret it as being in denial and refusing to alter its thinking. It's stuck in the same manipulative power motives of the past (Sat/Sco squ Merc.R) and is in complete willful denial (Moon/Nep opp Pisces Sun squ Uran)of, well, everything and so they carry on with the same sneaky, arrogant, manipulative manner they always have. Nothing has changed. I do agree though, the US is headed for a fall once the Neptunian fog clears(currently the Nep/Jup conj. isn't helping matters)
