Why Donald Trump will be the next US President

If Donald Trump becomes President of the USA, he will be the first to do so who has neither held political office nor been in the military. BUT he has been the star of a long-running reality TV show (The Apprentice), which nowadays gives the necessary gravitas. This as Saturn (reality, political leaders) squares Neptune (show business). And, as they say, politics is show business for ugly people - or at least, for people with strange hair styles.

To judge whether someone is likely to get elected as a leader, I look for 2 things: firstly, is their chart being empowered by transits, not just at present but during their subsequent term of office? And have they got more charisma than the other guy? It sounds ridiculously simple, but it always seems to be the guy with the charisma who wins. Clinton vs Bush sr, Bush jr vs Gore, Obama vs Hillary/McCain. Charisma is the ability to connect with people, it is a Venus quality, and the guys you don't like can have it just as much as the guys you do like.

First of all, Hillary Clinton. We don't know her birth time, but with her Sun at 3 Scorpio and her Moon at the end of Pisces (and Venus in mid Scorpio), she has no major transits coming up (maybe to her Angles if we knew them, but that alone probably isn't enough). So my first prediction is that Hillary will not be the Democratic candidate, let alone the next President. Transits apart, she doesn't have the charisma factor either - a lot of people find her hard to like, even if they agree with her politically.

Hillary has Venus in charismatic Scorpio, but it is square to Mars-Saturn-Pluto in Leo, giving her a hardness and aggression that overwhelms the Venus - her charisma probably only peeps out at quiet moments when there are no battles to be fought.

The only other serious Democratic contender is Bernie Sanders. There is some doubt over his birth time, but even so his Sun is experiencing an opposition from Neptune, and his Venus-Moon opposition has hard transits from both Uranus and Pluto. So this guy is in the game, and will probably be the Democratic candidate. If he does become President, it will be just for one term, as his transits will run out of steam, as will he, being nearly 80 by then.

Bernie Sanders
Then of course there is Donald Trump. He has Saturn hard-aspecting his Sun and Moon and North Node through to the end of 2017, and then Neptune starts to move in on his Sun, Moon and Node, admittedly from some distance, but that can easily be enough.

This is the man who wants to ban Muslims from entering the US, and to build a giant wall along the US-Mexican border. This is very Saturn. He also wants to 'make America great' again (as if it wasn't already the world's most powerful country) and this theme of redemption points to the future influence of Neptune on his chart.

Neptune is also influencing Sanders' chart, and it is more immediate, but here the meaning is I think to be found in his feeling for the ordinary American struggling to survive in the face of the greed of Wall St and big business. Neptune is also associated with socialism, which Sanders leans towards. He does not present himself as a redeemer in the Neptunian personality-cult sense that Trump does.

Donald Trump
Trump is the latest representative in the lineage of paranoid politics in the US, that whips up a fear of enemies from within, that began with the Salem witch trials, then continued later with a fear of Catholics and the Irish, then the Communists in the McCarthy era and now the Muslims, stirred up by Trump.

One of Trump's great strengths astrologically is that his Sun-Moon opposition in Gemini-Sag lies along (or near enough) the US Asc-Desc axis (Sibly Chart), while Trump's Desc at 29 Aquarius is 2 degrees off the US Moon at 27 Aquarius, making him very close to the American people, they feel he is one of their own. Sanders does not have this close connection: he is therefore more like an outsider looking in, able to see in a way that Trump can't, but he doesn't belong like Trump does. Trump is  a wasp (the German Drumpf family), Sanders has Jewish ancestry.

Trump is a few weeks older than that other wasp, George W Bush. Both have North Node in Gemini conjunct Uranus, describing the maverick, charismatic, right-wing quality they share. Both are from wealthy backgrounds, giving the sense of entitlement that can come with Leo Rising (which they also share), that perhaps makes it easier to dismiss others not just as inferior but as enemies.

This election is taking place in the closing stages of the Uranus-Pluto square, which has been with us since about 2009. This square traditionally brings political extremes (the last square was in the 1930s). In the UK we have it with the election of Jeremy Corbyn as leader of the Labour party. He is very popular, very left wing, and generally seen as unelectable.

And in the US both Trump and Sanders are at the extreme end of their respective parties. Like Corbyn, Sanders is very popular. But he is socialist, and the American electorate doesn't do socialism.

This year we also have a square from Saturn in Sag to Neptune in Pisces, that impacts on the US Sibly Asc at 12 Sag. And we can see both planets in the campaigns of Sanders and Trump. In the case of Saturn, Sanders wants to see proper governance of big business and to rebuild the infrastructure, whereas Trump plays of the fears (Saturn) of foreigners (Sagittarius) and wants to build walls. It is also the Saturn opposition of 9/11 (which also strikingly impacted the US Asc-Desc with Saturn-Pluto lying along it), so it is a time when fears can be played on. And it is Trump who has the close relationship with the US Asc.

So for 5 reasons, I think that Trump will beat Sanders: he has more personal charisma (Sanders has more integrity, but that's not the same thing); his chart is far closer to the US chart; America doesn't do socialism; the fear factor is big and probably decisive right now; and it is the Republicans' 'turn' after 8 years of a Democratic Presidency.

Thank you for this analysis. I appreciate it for several reasons. Among them is that you are looking from outside the US, which gives you some perspective. Also you point out the "charm" factor, which we Americans are reluctant to admit is important to our votes.

Will all due respect, the 4 pillars which your rest your case on are based off of your own opinions, not actual astrology. Trump's chart is closer to America's, therefore he will become president? But what if America needs to change? America doesn't do socialism? This speaks nothing towards the Science of Light, Astrology. This is an opinion piece.

Bloomberg said he's going to enter the race if Trump gets nominated. What do you think about him?

Your views sed shudders up the spine, but I can't fault your reasoning. He is also the perfect off-his-head, Nero-style president for a USA that is set on a course of rapid economic decline, and he is capable of escalating - on a whim - the situation with Russia, with inevitably awful results.
Thus the bottom line is: if things need to get much worse on the planet before they get better, then vote Trump!

Keep your eyes on Bloomberg!

Good article. Clear reasoning. Another interesting thing is DT was born under a lunar eclipse. I've heard another astrologer say natal eclipses are a sign of a royal leader.

Interestingly enough, Trump also has transiting Uranus trine his natal Moon around December time. A change of home?

Astrologically speaking, this is nonsense.Trump has a Saturn opposing his Sun, a hard aspect which is just ignored by the author.

I am a person who will die if Cruz's health care plan is implemented and I'm really sorry he's the one the GOP is embracing as the anti-trump. I'm so frightened of him that it is affecting my already not so good health. What do you think of Cruz's chances? I really respect your analyses.

You didn't event bother to look at progressions! This is not that rigorously examined. Plus, Hillary also has a strong Nep transit to her sun now, if I'm not mistaken, which you claim would have propelled Sanders to the heights. Go deeper, dude!

I totally agree. I think it was in the 1980s I stumbled across Trump's astrological chart and could not help but notice the similarities to the chart of the United States of America. Trump will also be having a Jupiter Return around the time of the election, which means this is something he has been working on for the last 12-24 years, really. Saturn will be on his moon shortly after the election, but that's when things just start getting tough and the flow sort of stops. There could even be an uprising or some sort. Whatever, happens Trump will be fought and blocked. In ending this, anyone with that many planets in Scorpio, as Hillary has, is not compatible with the United States chart, and if she should win her Presidency would end up much like Richard Nixon's. Trump can win people (he won me, I didn't like him) but Hillary can't. She will lose supporters. She's not warm enough.

The fixed star Regulus (The King maker/"the heart of the lion") is very close
to his asc. As for the transit of Saturn around the time of the election
moving close to his moon & opposing his sun can indicate several things,
none of which will be pleasant for him to experience: perhaps just the
realization of how difficult the campaign has been; the constraining position
he has put his wife & young son in; the enormous responsibility he is about
to under take....or it could indicate defeat...hard to tell.

Yes indeed, Anon. It's a question of whether he collides with emergent reality before or after the election. And with that Saturn in Cancer and Mars in Leo it's a question of how much he actually looks after his own close supporters. The Leo Mars overwhelming-force approach, very much in line with customary American military strategy, could land him up with a lot of opposition or deeply mired in a very sticky situation. Intuitively, I don't get the feeling he will become president, but I'm not sure about that. It could be that USA is heading for some sort of constitutional or power crisis (possible also with UK and its Brexit campaign), since there's something much bigger lying behind all this - a tide for change that Trump has partially captured, but he might not have the depth and profundity to ride it skilfully. It's a tide that concerns issues deeper and bigger than he addresses - and it's not really about making America great again. But we shall see. That Saturn transit is critical.

She IS the Democratic Candidate, so your prediction of Trump winning may prove wrong as well.

So, if Trump loses, what will everyone think about astrology at that point? He is going to lose, and his chart can't save him.

June 10th Anonymous, as of July 9, 2016 Hillary Clinton IS the Democratic Nominee , but she IS NOT the Democratic Candidate. I don't see how she won't become the Democratic Nominee. However, just pointing out that there is a difference, i.e., one doesn't become the Democratic Candidate until elected at the Democratic National Convention by the delegates.

In other news, my faith in astrology is being severely tested by both what happened with Brexit and with Trump, i.e., most astrologers wrote both of them off as NOT GOING TO HAPPEN! With Trump their unbiased astrological analysis has been even worse... they said he wouldn't even get close to the nomination amongst the other 16 candidates running; predicting his demise until they couldn't predict it any longer: he is the Republican nominee! Why such a huge disparity amongst astrologers? Is it pure bias? I can tell it isn't bias in this author's case; he makes it quite obvious he doesn't like Trump, at all, yet still predicts he will be the U.S. president. I do care deeply what the outcome of this election will be, but I care more deeply about the integrity of astrology!!!

Trump just officially won the nomination for the Republican party. I was reviewing past predictions from different astrologers, and over 80% predict that Trump would not even come this far.

So sad when bias outweighs what's being interpreted on an astrological chart, talk about being in denial.

These astrologers should remove these predictions in a last ditch effort towards damage control because their credibility and expertise is shot.

Astrology is not the problem, it's the interpretes.

Trump will win the Presidency. Jupiter transiting his natal Jupiter will grant him an overwhelming victory in November. His natal Jupiter is 17 degrees Libra. At the time of the election, the planet will be gliding over Libra at 12 degrees. Close enough! It will hit 17 degrees in early December and return there in April 2017. Every good astrologer will tell you this can be an uplifting, winning and life-changing planetary motion in itself.

I've also checked out Melania Trump, who is a Taurus. During his time in office, Uranus will conjunct her sun. I believe she will be the silent beauty who greatly influences the styles, designs and tastes of American clothing, furniture and other goods. The coming dramatic change in American style comes with Uranus in Taurus, but this is another story to be told.

Mars and Regulus conjunct Trump's natal Ascendant, by progression his Sun now conjuncts the AC (worldwide fame) and Regulus/Mars.
He wins.
Clinton will be lucky to be alive in November, looking like they want to dump her now, next batch of email leaks and it's over.

But, we now know Bernie should have been the nominee & would have been if the DNC had not committed fraud in the primaries. So, his prediction was corrected. Bernie won the votes but Cliton cheated.

Susan Shepard comment is eerily correct.
